Dean A. Bramlet, MD., completed medical school as a James Scholar at the University of Illinois and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He completed a cardiology fellowship at Duke University where he participated in completion of their first Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty in 1981. He is currently an Assistant Consulting Professor of Medicine in Cardiology at Duke University. He additionally is the director of the Heart and Lipid Institute of Florida.


He is a founding member and immediate past-President of the Florida Lipid Associates. Additionally, he is the founding President of Rocky Mountain Lipid Associates, Inc., and formerly director of the Aspen Valley Lipid Center in Aspen, Co. He is nationally recognized as an educator and lecturer on lipid management and preventive cardiology, and is a cardiologist practicing in Tampa, Florida. Additionally, Dr. Bramlet was recently elected to serve as President of the Southeast Lipid Association (SELA) at the 10th Annual Scientific Forum held at the Westin Savannah Harbor in Savannah, GA, August 3-5, 2007.
